Searching for players

Postby bdamage » 31 Jul 2009, 10:35

Game Scanner version 2.0.9 has support to search for players.

This can be done by using the search field with prefix command /player.

Example:
Code: Select all
/player Stinger

Note: No color encoding filter is done by Game Scanner when searching for players. So if a player has color encoded name, then you have to include those color tags.

Below screenshot illustrates by searching for player Stinger, Game Scanner will display the result in both server list and player list.

Well currently Game Scanner does support most FPS games. It may be some exception that is based on Half-Life 2 engine.

What would require for Game Scanner to support new games is some documented/open way to query servers to retrieve necessary & useful information and not all games does support this.
